Festivities And Activities
Many annual celebrations are held in New Orleans, Mardi Gras is perhaps the most famous of these annual celebrations. Featuring large crowds, popup food stands, and large colorful designed floats it is an experience few if any festivals can match.
Carnival officially begins on the Feast of the Epiphany. Mardi Gras is the final and most grandiose day of Catholic traditional celebrations.
One of the largest of the city's many music festivals is the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Referred to as "Jazz Fest", it is one the most prolific music festivals in America. There are many musical acts, both from Louisiana and internationally.
